Why it matters

The Wildlife plates are Idaho’s most popular specialty plates—and for good reason. Each year, they generate hundreds of thousands of dollars to protect the 98% of species that aren’t hunted, fished, or trapped. By restoring and conserving shared habitats, these efforts also benefit iconic game species like elk, deer, antelope, sage-grouse, salmon, and trout.

Cost breakdown

The Bluebird, Elk, or Cutthroat Trout license plates cost an additional $35 above regular registration fees for a new plate and an additional $25 above regular registration fees for renewal. Personalized plates cost an additional $60 for a new plate and $40 for renewal.
