Our Work

Where conservation creates comebacks.

We restore vital systems that support Idaho's wildlife, from lush riparian zones to expansive evergreen forests. We provide funding to partners doing on-the-ground work throughout Idaho.

Brief history

Founded to protect the full spectrum of Idaho’s natural heritage, the Idaho Fish & Wildlife Foundation has spent decades bridging the gap in wildlife funding. In the early '90s, the Wildlife License Plate program was developed to secure a dedicated revenue stream for "non-game" species—the birds, pollinators, and wildlife that are not hunted or fished. This, in turn, also benefited game animals. Our mission is rooted in the belief that all wildlife thrives when we protect shared habitats.
