Trout Unlimited, Idaho Falls Chapter, received an Idaho Fish & Wildlife Foundation grant in 2012 for the Pebble Creek Restoration project in southeast Idaho. Pebble Creek is a significant tributary of the Portneuf River. During the summer and fall of 2012, significant progress was made with a completion slated for early 2013. It is expected to see significant spawning activity during the spring of 2013 by native Yellowstone cutthroat trout.

Teton Regional Land Trust received funding in 2012 to restore and increase protective riparian cover for native Yellowstone cutthroat trout, waterbirds, and wintering Trumpeter swans along the Teton River. The Teton River Riparian Restoration project included restoring and enhancing riparian habitat along the Teton River and increasing cover by woody speciies in the riparian corridor by installing approximmatley 1,175 dormant willow poles, 450 native trees and shrubs and 11,750 square feet of native sod along the streambank.

The primary goal of Teton Regional Land Trust, Graham Wildlife Habitat Restoration Project is to re-connect riparian and upland vegetation, between the two reference sites, that will improve productivity of wetland and riparian breeding birds by establishing dense riparian cover and large woody vegetation suitable for nesting and brood-rearing. Additional benefits will be improving secure cover for movement provided to other wildlife species such as moose, elk, and white-tailed deer, improving available nesting habitat for neo-tropical bird species, and improving secure cover for amphibians, and reptiles.
